Assassin Emblem

This article explores the Assassin class at surface level. For anyone who is just starting out and want to learn more about the class, here you’ll find a rather complete class introduction. But if you want to get your hands on a much more in-depth reference and the unique strategies to easily master the class, then this Aion Assassin Guide is one you should not forget to check out. This guide can work wonders for any player when referred to along with this Aion Strategy Guide and this Aion Kinah-making Guide.

Assassins are the dual dagger (and sword) users in Aion. This class boasts a magnificent amount of evasion, allowing them to avoid enemy attacks. They also have the ability to hide from enemies in order to sneak up on them. Their damage is quite high, but so is the amount of damage taken (when enemies are able to hit them!).

The high points of this class are :

  • Tons of damage output using skills
  • The ability to hide from enemies and sneak up on them
  • High evasion to make it easier to avoid enemy attacks
  • The ability to use bows to pull mobs to their group

The low points are :

  • When hit, Assassins take a great deal of damage
  • Some mobs and players are able to see hidden characters

The Assassin is sometimes used as a tank when there is not another tank present (such as a Gladiator or Templar) due to their evasion. Although not quite as efficient as the heavy armor wearers, they still do much better than classes such as the Ranger, mages, or priests.

The Assassin’s skills range from just straight up attacking enemies, to having to attack them from behind. Due to the way critical attacks and damage work in Aion, the Assassin is much more suited to a grouping environment than a solo one. When grouped, Assassins will want to get behind the mobs (or players) to unleash their most deadly attacks. When solo, the Assassin is much more efficient against mobs who are not aggressive, as aggressives will not allow them to attack their backs!

The armor choices of the Assassin are very minimal; they can choose between Cloth or Leather. Cloth will not be suited well for them, as the defense is much lower than with Leather armor. Their weapon choices are daggers or swords (or one of each), or bows.

Conclusion : The Assassin is a class able to deal a lot of damage, but at the same time they also take a lot of damage when they are hit. Although they are unable to kite mobs very well, their evasion will generally take up for their low defense when doing melee attacks. This evasion also allows them to take the role of tanking when there is not another one around, although they will not be as efficient as real tanks. Their hiding ability can assist them when leveling up during low levels because they are able to skip many aggressive mobs while going into hide (although some will still notice them, so this is not always true).

Don’t forget to take a look at this Assassin Guide for more advance information about the class. Not an Assassin? Check out the other Aion guides in the same set and stay one step ahead of other Atreia dwellers.
