Aion Cleric

Cleric Emblem

Cleric Emblem

In this article, you’ll find a brief intro to the class but if you’re looking for more, then you might want to take a look at the this Cleric guide. Packed with unique strategies and detailed explanations on how to prepare yourself to survive in the faction war as a Cleric, the guide is recommended for every serious player. With class-specific leveling strategies, gear recommendations and money-making tips, the guide is rich with useful information for both Elyos and Asmodian alike.

Clerics are the supreme healing force in Aion. They do have a couple of buffs, but these are the ones obtained while leveling as a Priest. This class is relied upon primarily for their ability to heal players in a quick and efficient manner. At the same time, however, they are also able to solo quite well due to their ability to cast damaging spells and attacks on their enemies.

Some of their high points are as follows:

  • Great healing power
  • Ability to resurrect allied players
  • Basic buffing abilities
  • Ability to use Chain armor

As for their low points, there are the following:

  • Heals can be canceled by enemy attacks
  • Damage is a little low compared to the DPS classes

As you can see, their benefits outweigh their negatives. Nevertheless, enterpreneurs in the online gaming industry, sees this gap as an opportunity to offer solutions to close that gap with various Aion cleric-specific tools.

Going back the the class, although Clerics able to solo when necessary, they are much more efficient when put into a group with other players. If the group they are with does not need much healing, the Cleric will generally take the role of DPS to assist with the killing process. If the group does a great deal of healing, Clerics will be better off sitting on the back lines and just healing.

When looking at the Cleric’s abilities, they have a mixture between spells and melee damage abilities. The spells are called “smites” and can be canceled, whereas the melee abilities are unable to be canceled. The choice of attacks to use will greatly depend on what type of group the Cleric is in. If they are in a ranged group, they will want to use their smites. If they are in close-quarters and are playing the role of DPS, they will use melee attacks.

Conclusion: The Cleric is a great addition to any party, but can also be played as a solo character. Their heals, abilities to unleash attacks, and Chain armor all combine to boost their ability to survive in combat. In groups, they have the role of either just being a healer, being DPS, or being both! Because of this, different Clerics have different play-styles.

For more advanced class information, this is a recommended Cleric guide. Interested in exploring Atreia as another class, check out the other Aion guides available for the in-depth strategies to help you throughout your journey.

Aion Crafting

In Aion, people can pick up the following crafting skills:

  • Armorsmithing: Create anything that uses metal and serves for personal protection. This can be chain mail or plate mail as well as any other armor that uses metal.
  • Weaponsmithing: Smith melee weapons like swords, maces, daggers and everything else made out of metal for aggressive combat.
  • Tailoring: Lets you create cloth and leather armor for the squishy classes. You’ll need fibrous plants and leather to create items with tailoring.
  • Handicrafting: Required to craft your own bow, staff and other rough works – such as jewelry (yeah, I know). Accordingly the skill uses up wood, precious metal and gems.
  • Cooking: Self-explanatory and the same as in every other MMORPG. Lets you cook food and requires raw ingredients.
  • Alchemy: Your future profession if you are into potion-making. You’ll need to stock up on plants to make this craft work.

Aion Factions

There are no races to choose in Aion, only factions. Everyone will eventually evolve into a Daeva – which is the only playable race. When you start off in Aion, you will be given two faction choices to choose from: Elyos or Asmodian.

Both Aion factions pretty much come with similar skills and abilities. The game developer has taken caution to keep both factions at a balance so every encounter has a 50/50 chance win for each faction.

One marked difference between the two would be their appearance. Players who prefers the more devilish look can choose Asmodian, whereas for the more angelic looks, player can get an Elyos character.

Both the factions offer the exact same classes and advance classes: Assassin, Ranger, Cleric, Chanter, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Templar and Gladiator.

Taking a step back to look at the main storyline: both factions started out as humans. Some say the rift was caused by the epic Balaur attack which resulted in the collapse of the tower. Which in turn created a physical barrier, splitting the human race into two parts. Eventually, those who ended up with abundance of sunshine called themselves Elyos and the other confined humans developed in the Asmodians.

Having always been in the sun, the Elyos gain angelic features over time. The Asmodians, confined to the dark and dangerous broken part of the world, evolved to survive the brutal environment: they grew claws, hoofs, tails and look pale-ill due to no sun exposure.

How the factions eventually end up, you’ll have to find out for yourself. Spending time playing both factions would be my recommendation to get both sides of the story for a holistic view of the game. Happy playing!
