Aion Factions
Posted: July 1, 2009 at 12:40 am | Tags: aion factions, aion races, asmodian, daeva, elyosThere are no races to choose in Aion, only factions. Everyone will eventually evolve into a Daeva – which is the only playable race. When you start off in Aion, you will be given two faction choices to choose from: Elyos or Asmodian.
Both Aion factions pretty much come with similar skills and abilities. The game developer has taken caution to keep both factions at a balance so every encounter has a 50/50 chance win for each faction.
One marked difference between the two would be their appearance. Players who prefers the more devilish look can choose Asmodian, whereas for the more angelic looks, player can get an Elyos character.
Both the factions offer the exact same classes and advance classes: Assassin, Ranger, Cleric, Chanter, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Templar and Gladiator.
Taking a step back to look at the main storyline: both factions started out as humans. Some say the rift was caused by the epic Balaur attack which resulted in the collapse of the tower. Which in turn created a physical barrier, splitting the human race into two parts. Eventually, those who ended up with abundance of sunshine called themselves Elyos and the other confined humans developed in the Asmodians.
Having always been in the sun, the Elyos gain angelic features over time. The Asmodians, confined to the dark and dangerous broken part of the world, evolved to survive the brutal environment: they grew claws, hoofs, tails and look pale-ill due to no sun exposure.
How the factions eventually end up, you’ll have to find out for yourself. Spending time playing both factions would be my recommendation to get both sides of the story for a holistic view of the game. Happy playing!
