In this article, you’ll find a brief intro to the class but if you’re looking for more, then you might want to take a look at the this Cleric guide. Packed with unique strategies and detailed explanations on how to prepare yourself to survive in the faction war as a Cleric, the guide is recommended for every serious player. With class-specific leveling strategies, gear recommendations and money-making tips, the guide is rich with useful information for both Elyos and Asmodian alike.
Clerics are the supreme healing force in Aion. They do have a couple of buffs, but these are the ones obtained while leveling as a Priest. This class is relied upon primarily for their ability to heal players in a quick and efficient manner. At the same time, however, they are also able to solo quite well due to their ability to cast damaging spells and attacks on their enemies.
Some of their high points are as follows:
- Great healing power
- Ability to resurrect allied players
- Basic buffing abilities
- Ability to use Chain armor
As for their low points, there are the following:
- Heals can be canceled by enemy attacks
- Damage is a little low compared to the DPS classes
As you can see, their benefits outweigh their negatives. Nevertheless, enterpreneurs in the online gaming industry, sees this gap as an opportunity to offer solutions to close that gap with various Aion cleric-specific tools.
Going back the the class, although Clerics able to solo when necessary, they are much more efficient when put into a group with other players. If the group they are with does not need much healing, the Cleric will generally take the role of DPS to assist with the killing process. If the group does a great deal of healing, Clerics will be better off sitting on the back lines and just healing.
When looking at the Cleric’s abilities, they have a mixture between spells and melee damage abilities. The spells are called “smites†and can be canceled, whereas the melee abilities are unable to be canceled. The choice of attacks to use will greatly depend on what type of group the Cleric is in. If they are in a ranged group, they will want to use their smites. If they are in close-quarters and are playing the role of DPS, they will use melee attacks.
Conclusion: The Cleric is a great addition to any party, but can also be played as a solo character. Their heals, abilities to unleash attacks, and Chain armor all combine to boost their ability to survive in combat. In groups, they have the role of either just being a healer, being DPS, or being both! Because of this, different Clerics have different play-styles.
